ACHIEVING AUSTRALIA'S HIGHEST SUSTAINABILITY CERTIFICATION
Neumann Steel is the first steel reinforcing manufacturer in Australia to achieve Level 3 certification under the Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) program.
SSA-certified reinforcing steel supports Green Star and Infrastructure Sustainability Council (ISC) projects. It provides independent, third-party verification of our environmental, social and governance practices, helping project teams meet sustainability requirements with confidence.
For projects pursuing Green Star or ISC ratings, this certification simplifies procurement, supports compliance, and contributes the highest available Responsible Product Values (RPVs) toward sustainability targets.
WHAT THIS CERTIFICATION MEANS
Under the SSA program, steel manufacturers are independently assessed against a range of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria, including areas such as environmental impact, resource use, workplace practices, and responsible supply chain management.
The SSA certification includes three performance levels: Levels 2A and 2B demonstrate strong, verified sustainability practices, and Level 3 represents industry-leading performance.
Neumann Steel’s Currumbin facility has proudly achieved Australia’s first SSA Level 3 certification, setting a new benchmark for sustainable steel manufacturing. Our Thornton and Hervey Bay facilities both hold Level 2A certification, supplying SSA-certified reinforcing steel.
