How we got here
In more than 50 years, Neumann Steel has evolved significantly to become the organization we are today
1970
Announcing Opening day of NuCast
Holding the microphone is Joh Bjelke-Petersen, He was the longest-serving and longest-lived premier of Queensland, holding office from 1968 to 1987.
1970
Opening Day of Nucast Steel
In 1970, Nucast Steel’s opening day. Takes immense pride in being 100% Australian owned and operated.
1970
First Mesh Welder Machine “Welder 1”
The first Mesh Welder Machine, “Welder 1”. It produced on average 120 sheets of NF81 a day (12.6 Tonne a Day). On average 30,000 Sheets a year (3150 Tonne a year.)
1980
In the 1980s we were the first in the country to innovate with rib wire and rib mesh.
Transitioning it to the domestic market. We’ve always been responsive, serving our customers’ needs, no matter the size of the job.
1989
Nucast name change to Neumann Steel
Nucast name change to Neumann Steel in 1989. Ken Simpson begun working at Nucast Steel as a Truck Driver but helped in other areas. Today, his legacy endures as his son and grandson continue to be a part of Neumann Steel.
1992
Opening Day of the Parkview Diner

Early 2000s
Expansion and Innovation at Neumann Steel
In the early 2000s, Neumann Steel marked a significant milestone in its growth and innovation journey by opening an advanced injection moulding facility at our Currumbin HQ Branch. This strategic expansion allowed us to enhance our production capabilities, meet increasing demand, and diversify our product offerings
2015
NuPod: Sustainable Innovation in Construction
The NuPod recycled plastic void former is a testament to Neumann Steel's commitment to sustainability and innovation in construction. Designed with the environment in mind, NuPod is made from recycled plastic, offering a durable and eco-friendly solution for void formation in concrete slabs.
